2008 Summer Camp in Canada ——Tour of Country of Maple Canada is one of the biggest countries in the world. Its territory is bigger than China’s. The population is about 30 million compared with China’s 1.3 billion. It is a beautiful immigration country, the political capital is Ottawa, and Toronto is the biggest city and financial center. Its population is ten percent of the whole nation. For the 2 weeks summer camp in Canada, students and Mrs. Chen Hong, Director of International Department, visited famous universities such as Toronto University and Ontario University Institute Technology; played volleyball on the beach of Lake Ontario, Watched the famous Niagara Falls—the biggest falls in the world. On the 23rd of July, students and teacher visited Dr. Norman Bethune’s Memorial; On the 25th of July, visited Casa Loma and Royal Ontario Museum, walked through University of Toronto, Ontario Parliament and Bloor Street,. They walked around the local famous malls - Yorkdale and Pacific Mall, visited Hockey Hall of Fame and the most famous tower – Canada National Tower, had a bird’s eye view of Toronto, walked around Nathan Philip Square (City Hall), Eaton Centre and Yonge Street. On the 27th of July, they visited Ontario Science Centre and Toronto Zoo. The last three days, they spent their time on a 3-city tour, Ottawa – capital of Canada; Montreal – the second biggest city in Canada that named Paris, and Quebec, the former capital of Canada few centuries ago, on the way back to Toronto, they took the ship on the St. Lawrence River to visit the Thousand Islands. Students got the Certificate of English training on the close ceremony. The 2-week Summer Camp in Canada, students had a chance to practise their oral English, widened their views and learned a bit more about the western culture. The trip to Canada will be a good memory to their lives.
