2009 Winter Camp in Cambridge of the UK The group of 52 students and group leaders, Ms. Chen Hong, director of International Department, Ms. Ren Huili and Mr. Zhang Guoku, have a study tour in Cambridge Regional College of United Kingdom From 8th Jan. 2009 to 21st Jan.2009. “The sightseeing in the museums and Cathedrals gave me a profound impression, especially the tour of visiting the British Museum and Canterbury Cathedral.”HanYu, one of the students in the group said after the tour.some students also realised the importance of communicating in the process of staying with the local host families, practising English speaking and listening, which contributed to improving the ability of English communication. Dr. Amina, the director of International Department of CRC, granted the English training certificates to students after a week training. Students and teachers visited Cambridge University and Oxford University, which are top ten universities in the world. Through the introduction and sightseeing, students touched the impressive and special culture of UK. In addition, they know more about the history of the Cambridge and the Cathedrals. “the British history is always related to the holy religion.” Said Ms.Chen Hong, director of International Department. Also, teachers and students took part in all sorts of activities, such as visiting Christ Church College of Oxford University, one of the places that <Harry Porter> was filmed. Walking down River of Thames, visiting the Big Ben, National Parliament, 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace where the Queen and Royal families are staying, Trafalgar Square.The students enjoyed the tour very much.Besides, going punting in River of Cam was great fun. On 20th Jan. 2009, CRC gave a lift to London Heathrow International Airport, Saying good-bye to UK, end of the significative winter camp of 2009.
